Sixth Form Dress Code

At Marylebone Academy Sixth Form, we expect all students to present themselves in a way that reflects our shared values, professionalism and high aspirations. Our ‘Smart Business’ dress code is designed to prepare students for future workplaces and opportunities. A business suit is considered the ‘gold standard’ of professional dress.

Students who do not meet the dress code expectations will be sent home to change in the first instance.

Uniform expectations:

• Business trousers

• Business dress or skirt

• Collared shirt (tucked into trousers)

• Plain v-neck jumper (no large logo or branding)

• Polo shirts (must have a collar)

• Formal shoes or boots (black, brown, or blue; leather or faux leather)

• Plain black trainers (no logos)

• Plain black abaya with a plain headscarf (for religious dress)

Students are not permitted to wear the following:

• Hoodies, sweatshirts, or loungewear

• Caps or hats

• Jeans or denim of any colour

• Tracksuits or tracksuit bottoms

• Leggings or knitted trousers

• Ugg boots or slippers

Lanyards

Marylebone Academy lanyards must be always worn visibly on site. Replacement lanyards are available for £5 if lost.

Failure to meet these expectations, including not wearing a lanyard, will result in students being sent home to change and issued with a one-hour detention.
